  • Greetings from South of France !

    Hello everybody,

My name is Gabriel, 41 years old, I play cajon since 5 months on a Schlagwerk 2 in One (Makassar).

I live in France, in Saint-Cyr-Sur-Mer, a small village located between Marseille and Toulon along the Mediterranean Sea. I share my life with my girlfriend, our 4 years old son and we are waiting a new baby (a little girl this time !) for September.

I play guitar since 25 years, some years of keyboard in the past and I started ukulele and bass recently. I also have a Djembe since many years but I didn’t practice it enough and I so much prefer Cajon for the playing position, the sound, the possibility to jam unplugged, and moreover no need to tune it again and again on each climate variation…

Since 2022, I play in an improvisation band with other persons who have an autism disorder : 2 talented violinists, a great young guitarist and a double bass player who also plays many instruments. To my knowledge, this is the only band of this kind in France.

My goal is to be able to improvise with a cajon by the end of the year, so a lot of work in perspective !

Thank you very much Felipe for your website and your videos, it’s really great and you explore a lot of different styles. I bought a traditional method (Hal Leonard for Cajon) to begin, but your lessons are far better than this book. I also really enjoy your smile and your accent from Brazil, we can “hear” the sun in your voice 😉

    Good vibes to everyone !
