Introduction
Hello, my name is Debbie and I’m happy to be here learning to play the cajon from Felipe. I purchased the only cajon that was for sale in my nearby music store. It’s Aspire by Latin Percussion. I have no idea if it’s any good but it’s fine to learn on and maybe later on I will upgrade to something better.
I’m originally from California, then Amsterdam, and now live in Bulgaria with my three dogs, play guitar professionally for many years, and teach online. I love playing all styles from classical to rock and also play the bass and sing. When I record, I program drums but thought it would be great to make my own live beats with the cajon. I’ve seen people play the cajon with cymbals too, like a ride, and/or hi-hat with brushes, and wonder if that is part of the course, Felipe…😁
My goal is to have fun, make recordings with my cajon playing, and maybe even be a cajon player with other musicians. I love rhythm so this should be great!
